What is the Shariah ruling on dealing with a mother who frequently invokes evil upon her daughter in this world and the hereafter, and is a mother's prayer against her disobedient daughter answered, despite the daughter's attempts to avoid problems?

One who is afflicted with an ill-tempered mother should be patient and treat her with kindness to attain reward. Whatever calamities befall a person are by Allah's decree and destiny, and often they are due to one's sins. Therefore, she should repent, increase good deeds, and supplicate. A mother's supplication may have an effect if the child has been remiss in her rights; otherwise, it has no effect because it is an unacceptable transgression.
