Is it permissible to say "Ya Qadeem Al-Ihsaan (O Ancient of Goodness)" in supplication (Du'a)?

There is no objection to the supplication "Ya Qadeem al-Ihsan" (O Ancient of Goodness), because Allah's goodness is one of His eternal attributes. This description has been used by a group of scholars, such as Ibn al-Qayyim and al-Nawawi. Furthermore, the attribute of "ancient" has been mentioned in the Sunnah in describing Allah's attributes, such as in the Hadith of entering the mosque: "I seek refuge in Allah, the Almighty, and in His Noble Countenance, and His Ancient Dominion from the accursed devil." As for naming Allah as "Al-Qadeem" (The Ancient), it has been mentioned in Sunan Ibn Majah with a chain of transmission that has some weakness and poor memory. Imam Ahmad permitted the saying "Ya Daleel al-Hayara" (O Guide of the Perplexed), even though it is not mentioned in the Qur'an or Sunnah, and the door of informing about Allah is wider than the door of naming Him.
