Is it from the Sunnah to say, "Praise be to Allah, Who is not praised for any disliked thing except Him," when afflicted by a disliked event?

The supplication "Praise be to Allah, none but Whom is praised for what is disliked" has not been narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Sunnah is to say "Praise be to Allah in every circumstance" when one sees something disliked. This supplication expresses dislike for what Allah has decreed, whereas what is obligatory is patience with Allah's decrees, both good and bad. For Allah the Almighty is to be praised in every circumstance, whether in ease or hardship, as both are trials and tests for humanity.
