Is deprivation of a blessing considered evidence that its owner is unworthy of it?

Allah Almighty tests His servant for a wisdom He intends, not because the servant is undeserving of blessings. The servant must be content with Allah's decree and destiny, for trials may be to elevate ranks, expiate sins, or ward off evil. The world is not worth the wing of a gnat to Allah, and trials can be with evil and good. Allah Almighty says: "And We test you with evil and with good as a trial; and to Us you will be returned." (21:35) The believer is a winner in both cases: if good befalls him, he is grateful, and that is better for him; and if adversity befalls him, he is patient, and that is better for him.
