Is there sin for one who kills insects—such as beetles—by exposing them to the sun?

It is permissible to get rid of harmful insects by killing them or similar means. However, throwing them into the scorching sun may constitute forbidden torture. One should kill them humanely, in compliance with the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "And when you kill, kill well."
