How do I pay zakat on money designated for marriage, knowing that I donate from it to my family and paternal aunts?

If money reaches the nisab (minimum threshold) and a hawl (full lunar year) passes over it, zakat becomes obligatory on it, even if it is set aside for marriage or Hajj. What is given to aunts is not counted as zakat unless zakat was intended when it was given, and they were among those eligible to receive it, as Allah Almighty clarified in His statement: "Indeed, Sadaqat (charities) are only for the poor, and the needy, and those employed to collect [zakat], and for bringing hearts together [for Islam], and for freeing captives [or slaves], and for those in debt, and for the cause of Allah, and for the traveler – an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise." Zakat is a blessing for wealth and does not represent a significant amount compared to it.
