Is he who performs 'Umrah a week before Hajj considered a Mutamatti' and is therefore obligated to offer a sacrifice (hady), and is he required to slaughter the hady alone or with his wife?

Whoever performs 'Umrah during the months of Hajj and then performs Hajj in the same year, is a mutamatti' (one who combines 'Umrah and Hajj) and must offer a hady (sacrificial animal), the minimum of which is a sheep to be slaughtered in the Haram and distributed among the poor. The udhiyah (sacrifice of an animal) is a confirmed Sunnah, and there is disagreement regarding its obligation for a pilgrim. If a pilgrim offers an udhiyah, it is permissible for him to include his wife in its reward, but it does not suffice for the obligatory hady.
