What is the ruling on clothes and pillows stuffed with feathers manufactured in infidel countries, and what is required if a jacket among them is washed with other clothes?

It is permissible to wear clothes containing feathers and to recline on a pillow stuffed with them, whether the feathers are pure or impure. There is no need to repeat prayers performed while wearing such items, because, according to the soundest opinion, one who prayed with impurity unknowingly is not obligated to repeat the prayers. If the feathers are from a dead animal whose meat is permissible to eat, the majority of scholars consider them pure. If they are from an animal whose meat is not permissible to eat, the Hanafis and Malikis also consider them pure, and this is the chosen opinion of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. If the purity of feathers is established, then there is no need to wash clothes that were laundered with items containing feathers.
