Is the profession of someone who plays the violin at the Institute of Music and the Ministry of Information considered unlawful (haram), and should marriage to him be refused for that reason?

Working in teaching and playing music is forbidden (haram (definition)), and the money earned from it is forbidden. Therefore, you should not accept the man as a husband unless he abandons this work and repents from it. If he rejects you because of his profession, it is obligatory for you [to reject him] if that is the source of his earnings from which he would spend on you. Al-Dasuqi said: "As for spending from unlawful (haram) earnings, marriage is not permissible with it, even if she knows about it." Choosing a righteous husband is one of the causes of a woman's happiness, and whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
