The science of accounting is among the beneficial sciences that are permissible to learn and teach. It may even be recommended or obligatory depending on the motivations. However, it is forbidden to learn and teach it if it is used to assist in something unlawful, such as working in usurious banks. In such a case, its prohibition is due to an external factor, not to its essence. If the prohibited aspect is absent, then there is no harm in studying it.
