What is the ruling on a group of people accusing an individual of committing sodomy with them, while he denies it, knowing that the number of accusers exceeds four?

Sodomy is a heinous abomination that Allah mentioned in the Quran and condemned the people of Lut for. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said regarding its perpetrator: "Whoever you find doing the deed of the people of Lut, kill the doer and the one to whom it is done." And those who admit to practicing sodomy with another person deserve two punishments: execution, and eighty lashes for the slander, for slandering whoever denied that abomination. This abomination is proven by confession or by the testimony of four witnesses. The ruler or his deputy is the one authorized to carry out these punishments.
