What is the ruling on combining and shortening prayers while traveling for tourism for ten days, whether by staying in one city or by temporarily moving to another city and then returning, and is it permissible to skip the Friday prayer and combine it with the 'Asr prayer?

You are permitted to avail yourself of the concessions for travel, such as shortening the four-rak'ah prayers (qasr) and combining the prayers that share a time (jam')—Dhuhr with Asr, and Maghrib with Isha—provided that the distance of the journey you intend is a distance that allows for qasr (approximately 83 kilometers). If you do not intend to stay for four days in a particular place during your travel, you are considered a traveler, even if you stay for four days or more. However, if you do intend to stay for that duration, you become subject to the rulings of a resident, and it is not permissible for you to shorten prayers or utilize any other travel concessions. Therefore, in the case where you are considered a resident, you are not permitted to shorten or combine prayers, and Friday prayer becomes obligatory upon you. As for the case where you are considered a traveler, it is legislated for you to shorten and combine prayers, and in this situation, it is permissible for you to miss Friday prayer; however, if you attend Friday prayer, it will suffice you.
