The jurists differed on the ruling concerning a woman uncovering her face in front of a non- man. Some permitted it, while others did not, and the latter is the we follow. In our view, a woman uncovering her face is a sin. However, if you act upon the قول (saying/opinion) of scholars who permitted uncovering, without merely seeking out concessions, then there is no sin upon you. We advise you to wear a full-body covering (farrashiyya) that includes the face. Wearing the khimar and abaya has become common in Libya.
