Is it narrated that Aisha, may God be pleased with her, struck the bowl containing food from in front of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, when she became jealous of Hafsa, may God be pleased with her? And what is the authenticity of this narration?

The hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi from Anas, in which one of the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent him food in a bowl, and 'Aisha then knocked its contents over, whereupon the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Food for food and vessel for vessel," is a sound and authentic hadith (hasan sahih). It was authenticated by Al-Albani and Shu'ayb Al-Arna'ut, and there is a disagreement regarding the identity of the owner of the bowl.
