Is it permissible to say aloud "Lā ʾilāaha ʾillā-llāh, Muḥammadun Rasūlullāh" (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah) when carrying the deceased and along the way?

Raising one's voice with dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and tahlīl (uttering "Lā ilāha illā Allāh") behind a funeral procession is disliked (makrūh). This is the position of the four Imams and what has been narrated from the Salaf (pious predecessors). Evidence for this is the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibition against a funeral being followed by a voice or fire. Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) condemned those who did this, and scholars have agreed that this act was not present during the blessed generations. Furthermore, it is the custom of the People of the Book to raise their voices with funeral processions, but the prohibition against imitating them applies to what contradicts the path of the righteous predecessors.
