Is it permissible to play the Quran during prayer to increase humility?

The situation described does not aid in achieving devotion (khushu') in prayer; rather, it causes distraction from it. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid what was mentioned. Playing a tape during prayer does not invalidate it, but it is disliked (makrooh) due to the heart's preoccupation with matters other than the prayer.
