What is the ruling on holding a hot lid for cooking utensils using papers containing Arabic (non-religious) or French letters?

Arabic script should not be used in ways that demean it, even if it contains no names of Allah or the Prophet, because Arabic letters possess sanctity. Some scholars have even gone so far as to say that letters have sanctity even if they are not in Arabic, and this is the relied-upon opinion, unless what is written in a non-Arabic language has sacred legal status. Therefore, papers with writing on them, especially in Arabic, should not be used in ways that demean them, such as for cleaning or holding.
