Are the two rak'ahs of repentance prescribed after every sin, even if it is very small?

Praying two rak'ahs after committing a sin is legislated and recommended, whether the sin is minor or major, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no servant who commits a sin, then performs ablution perfectly, then stands and prays two rak'ahs, then seeks Allah's forgiveness, except that Allah will forgive him." What is obligatory is to repent from the sin by abandoning it, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it. It is permissible to combine intentions in the prayer of repentance, the Sunnah of ablution, and the salutation of the mosque.
