Is it permissible for a Muslim to share food at the same table with non-Muslims who drink alcohol?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to sit with those who drink alcohol, whether they are disbelievers or Muslims, based on the Almighty's saying: "then do not sit with them until they engage in a different discourse." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade sitting at a table where alcohol is circulated, even if the person sitting with them does not drink, because by doing so, he is considered to be approving of the evil and remaining silent about it. The duty is to denounce them, and if they do not respond, then it is obligatory to leave and separate from them.
