Is using adhesive tape to straighten rows permissible or an innovation?

This is because it is a means to achieve a legitimate purpose, which is the straightening of rows, an act whose virtues are indicated by religious texts. The Permanent Committee has issued a permitting this, and Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen supported this opinion, explaining that a religious innovation is worshipping Allah in a way He has not prescribed. As for matters of this world that are introduced and serve as a means to a legitimate purpose, they are not considered innovations; rather, they may be commendable and beneficial. Examples include loudspeakers and lines on carpets for straightening rows.
