Does discharging semen with lust prevent the acceptance of prayer for forty days?

The emission of semen with desire, without an act from the person – such as in a wet dream – carries no sin. However, intentionally causing the emission of semen with desire – which is known as masturbation – is forbidden, and repentance from it is obligatory. It has not been reported that the prayer of one who commits this act is not accepted for forty days. What is obligatory for one who has committed this act is to repent to Allah Almighty and to immediately abandon this sin.
