Does the absence of feeling lust after excessive masturbation affect the validity of prayer and fasting?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

We have previously indicated the prohibition of masturbation. The emission of semen does not invalidate the prayer itself, but rather relates to its prerequisite, which is purity from ritual impurity (hadath). If semen is emitted while awake without lust, then only ablution (wudu') is required. However, if it is emitted during sleep, then ritual bathing (ghusl) is absolutely required. The emission of semen without lust does not invalidate the fast, nor does its emission during sleep invalidate it at all.
