Do the numbers 7, 13, and 14 have good or bad luck connotations?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

There is no validity to connecting numbers with luck, and pessimism regarding numbers, days, months, or colors falls under tiyarah, which is forbidden in Islamic law. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no adwa (contagion without Allah's decree) and no tiyarah," and "Tiyarah is polytheism," and "Whoever is turned back from a need by tiyarah has committed polytheism." The expiation for this is to say: "O Allah, there is no good except Your good, and no bird (omen) except Your bird, and there is no god other than You." Tiyarah is pessimism, and it is false and has no effect. As for fa'l (optimistic good omen), it is a good word that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, loved, because it gives a person hope in Allah's grace and goodness.
