Is it permissible to enroll in a mixed class for learning the English language, where students are segregated—males and females—and lowering the gaze is observed, taking into consideration that this institute is the best?

A Muslim must be wary of mixing with foreign women, as it leads to forbidden glances and conversations that may lead to undesirable consequences. Islam has blocked all means that lead to the forbidden. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against the temptation of women. Not all mixing between men and women is forbidden. If the mixing involves distinction, no physical contact, lowering of the gaze, and complete covering, then it is not forbidden. Nevertheless, it is safer to avoid places of mixing in this era, where religious deterrents have decreased and corruption has become widespread.
