Does water become ritually impure, thus preventing its use for purification, if its color or taste changes due to rust from the pipes through which it passes?

If pure water changes color or taste due to a pure substance and its characteristics are overwhelmed, the majority of scholars hold that it is impermissible to purify oneself with it. However, rust in water pipes is not impure and does not render the water impure. A slight change in water due to its container does not prevent purification with it, because it is something that is widespread. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the permissibility of performing ablution with stagnant water and water that has changed in leather or copper vessels. It is also permissible to drink this water as long as no harm results from it.
