Is it permissible to perform ablution with clean water that has a yellowish tint due to rust from the container it was drawn from, with the possibility of its smell having changed, and what is the ruling for one who performed ablution and prayed with it due to the unavailability of other water?

The yellowness that appears in water due to its location or prolonged stagnation does not affect its purity, and it is permissible to use it for ablution (wudu') and ritual bathing (ghusl). This is because its alteration does not prevent purification with it, as it is a common affliction and difficult to guard against. Many scholars have explicitly stated this.
