Is it permissible to perform ablution with water that has changed in one of its characteristics? Thank you.

If the color, taste, or smell of water changes due to an impure substance, it becomes defiled and purification with it is not permissible. If one of its three characteristics changes due to a pure substance that does not ordinarily accompany it, then it is permissible to use it for ordinary matters such as drinking and cooking.
