Is the concept of fitna limited to the fear of intercourse and what is less than that, or does it include inclination and desire to approach women? And is keeping as much distance as possible, while the feeling remains in the heart, considered a safeguard from fitna?

If the feeling of inclination and desire to approach a woman settles in the heart and one gives in to thoughts about it, it is considered a form of metaphoricalzina (adultery), as it is a means to fall into indecency. For the zina of the eye is looking, the zina of the ear is listening, the zina of the tongue is speaking, the zina of the hand is touching, and the zina of the foot is walking, while the heart desires and wishes. However, if this feeling is merely a passing thought that one repels and does not allow to settle in the heart, then one is not held accountable for it.
