What is the expiation for an adulterous wife after sincere repentance? Is she allowed to have children after adultery? Are her children considered children of the street? Adultery is an abomination and a heinous crime, and it is a greater offense when committed by a married woman. She is obligated to perform sincere repentance by abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving never to return to it. Once the conditions for her repentance are fulfilled, Allah will expiate this sin for her. If the adultery occurred while she was married, the children are attributed to her husband because "the child belongs to the bed." She must conceal her sin, and there is no impediment for her to have children with her husband. She is not required to seek divorce after repentance, nor is she forbidden to her husband merely by falling into adultery.
