Is it permissible for a bewitched woman to touch, read, and embrace the Quran during her menstrual period, especially if abstaining from that might negatively affect her condition, taking into consideration her special circumstances (such as working in mixed-gender environments)?

A Muslim is not permitted to hug the Mus'haf (copy of the Qur'an) while sleeping, especially a menstruating woman, because it is forbidden for her and for one who is not in a state of purity (wudu') to touch the Mus'haf. Furthermore, deep sleep nullifies wudu', and hugging it (the Mus'haf) is a likely cause of its disrespect. As for a menstruating woman reciting the Qur'an, it is permissible, especially if there is a need, but without directly touching the Mus'haf; rather, with a barrier. It is permissible to play Qur'an recitations while sleeping, or to place a Qur'an player on the bed, although it is better to maintain the prescribed adhkar (remembrances), ruqyah (definition) (incantations), and Ayat al-Kursi.
