What is the expiation for having intercourse with one's wife during the daytime in Ramadan for more than seven days, knowing the act is forbidden and given the difficult psychological circumstances that led to it?

Deliberately engaging in sexual intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan is a grave sin that necessitates the major expiation (Kaffarah Kubra) for each day intercourse occurred, due to the violation of the sanctity of the month and disobedience to Allah’s command. Sadness and depression are not considered a legitimate excuse as long as one is of sound mind. It is obligatory to obey Allah, remember Him, and thank Him. Disobedience is a cause of calamities, and one must increase in seeking forgiveness and sincere repentance.
