What is the ruling on a son not consulting his father, and telling him, "You don't know"?

God has made it obligatory to honor one's parents and be kind to them, and He has forbidden disobeying them. There are Quranic verses and prophetic hadiths that affirm this and warn of the punishment for a disobedient child in this world and the Hereafter. The disobedient brother should also be advised, reminded of God, and offered help through righteous companionship and beneficial tapes. His staying at home is better than his going out to bad places.
