The answer

Facing the is not a condition for hearing the Athan (call to prayer) or recitation. However, some scholars have held the view that it is recommended to face it during acts of worship, because it is the noblest direction. The esteemed Hanbali scholar Mansour Al-Buhuti mentioned that facing the Qibla is among the Sunan (recommended practices) of ablution. And Ibn Muflih stated in "Al-Furu'" that facing the Qibla is appropriate for every act of obedience unless there is a دليل (proof) to the contrary.
