What is meant by "jinn and mankind" in Surat An-Nas?

Allah commanded in Surat An-Nas to seek refuge from Al-Waswas Al-Khannas (the lurking whisperer) who whispers in the breasts of mankind, and that this whisperer can be from among the jinn or from among mankind. The correct understanding of the verse is that His saying: "from among the jinn and mankind" is a clarification of who whispers, and that they are of two types: humans and jinn. So, the jinn whispers in the breasts of humans, and humans also whisper in the breasts of humans. The verse indicates seeking refuge from the evil of both types of devils: devils among mankind and devils among jinn, just as they both share in satanic revelation.
