Is the questioner considered sinful for associating the disruption of her affairs with seeing her relative or her relative being aware of her, and what should she do regarding this relative?

It is not permissible to be pessimistic about doors being closed when a female relative encounters or learns about something concerning you, because pessimism is polytheism (shirk (definition)) and a bad assumption about Allah. When feeling pessimistic, one must rely on Allah and say: "O Allah, there is no good but Your good, and no bird (omen) but Your bird (omen), and there is no god other than You." It is not permissible to sever ties with a female relative for this reason, because that would be a realization of the pessimism. Merely thinking about this matter incurs no sin, as long as it does not lead to an action or a retreat. It is better to abandon this type of thinking.
