What is the ruling on consuming soup that was later discovered to have been cooked with pork, after the questioner was informed that it contained no pork, this being out of necessity while searching for halal food in a country where most of the meat is pork?

Pork, in all its parts, is an impure abomination. It is impermissible to benefit from it or to touch it. If one consumed the soup by mistake, there is no sin upon him, based on the Almighty's saying: "And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred, but [only for] what your hearts intended." And based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has forgiven for my Ummah their mistakes, their forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into."
