What is the ruling on the friendship between two people who practiced sodomy in their youth and then repented? Will Allah forgive their sin? And will He grant them success in their lives, just like others?

We ask Allah to grant you and your friend steadfastness in repentance and obedience. What occurred before puberty is not held against you. You both should advise each other and compete in good deeds, and let your friendship and love be for the sake of Allah. Self-accountability should be a motivator for righteousness, not an obsession. Beware of the whisperings of Satan; they do not harm you or affect your faith. Rather, they are a sign of sound belief and strong faith, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "That is pure faith," referring to one who finds in himself thoughts too grave to utter.
