A woman is required to cover her face from non- men according to the more sound of the two scholarly opinions. A woman's 'awrah in prayer differs from her 'awrah when being looked at. In prayer, she uncovers her face and hands, whereas when being looked at, she covers her entire body. The covering does not have to be black. One should not rely on conjectures and delusions regarding harassment related to the niqab. A husband does not have the right to order his wife to uncover her face as long as the wife believes it is obligatory, because "there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator."
