What is the expiation for invalidating the fast of a Ramadan day by intercourse, and is it possible to expiate by feeding instead of fasting for two consecutive months due to difficult work conditions, knowing that the wife is pregnant and they follow the Hanafi school of thought?

If a man has intercourse with his wife during the daytime in Ramadan, intentionally and knowing its prohibition, he has committed a grave sin and a severe expiation (kaffarah mughalladhah) becomes obligatory upon him. This expiation is to be performed in the following order: emancipating a believing slave. If he is unable to do so, then fasting for two consecutive months. If he is unable to do that, then feeding sixty poor people. The expiation is not waived due to the responsible person's ignorance of it. If his inability to fast is temporary, he must wait until he is able to fast, and it is not permissible for him to move on to feeding. However, if the inability is permanent, then he moves on to feeding, which is one mudd of the predominant food of the country for each poor person. Anticipated hardship in fasting does not justify moving on to feeding.
