Will Allah Almighty hold people accountable on the Day of Judgment according to their mental capacities, such that the more intelligent are held to stricter account than the less intelligent, taking into consideration the difference in mental capacities between women and men, and the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "deficient in intellect and religion"?

Intellect is the basis of accountability. Whoever loses it will not be held accountable, but will be tested on the Day of Judgment. Differences in intelligence do not, in themselves, lead to differences in accountability. However, if the more intelligent person is also more knowledgeable, then the proof has been established against them by the additional knowledge they have received. Backbiting scholars is more harmful because it alienates the ignorant from them, and it is a hindrance from the path of Allah. Speaking about Allah without knowledge is forbidden by the text of the Quran. The ostentatious scholar is the first to be tormented, and woe to the scholar who does not act upon their knowledge. However, this is not a justification for backbiting them, for the scholar who knows and sins is more culpable than the ignorant person who sins. The punishment for committing the same sin is one, even if they differ in intelligence, but there are matters that multiply good deeds and increase evil deeds. The punishment may vary according to the fear or disdain that was present in the heart.
