What is the ruling on money earned from working in a clinic while being absent from official duty without the administration's knowledge? Is it permissible to spend it on children and relatives? Is it permissible to keep money left behind by patients? Is it permissible to pay money to the supervising doctor in exchange for opening a private office, renting a room, or giving him a percentage of the income?

First: Receiving a full salary while neglecting work or being absent from it is forbidden. The portion of the salary corresponding to the negligence must be returned to the employer, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: (O you who have believed, do not consume your properties among yourselves wrongfully.)

Second: The money left by a patient for a doctor is not permissible for the doctor to take if he works in a clinic he does not own. He must return it to the clinic's administration, unless the administration is aware of it and approves.

Third: Paying money to the responsible doctor to open an office is not permissible if it is hidden from the administration and the doctor exploits it for himself, as this is considered bribery. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the briber and the bribed.
