Have all bed covers become defiled by being washed with a cover that was defiled with urine, and does that affect the validity of prayer when touching the damp covers after ablution, and do the covers become purified by placing them first and then adding water, even if it is less than two Qullas?

The first step in purifying ritually impure clothes is to remove the impurity outside the washing machine, or to place the clothes in the machine before adding water, so that the water removes the impurity by flowing over it if it is a hukmi (non-corporeal) impurity. As for placing the impure item in the washing machine after adding water, it will not become pure if the water is less than two qullas. Rather, the water itself will become impure according to the majority of scholars. The transfer of impurity from it to a wet pure item is a matter of scholarly disagreement. The questioner may adopt the view that impurity does not transfer, to alleviate hardship. In this case, he should purify the bedding and, in the future, follow the opinion of the majority of scholars.
