Is the work of a financial manager in a company that deals with usurious banks permissible or forbidden, and is one who assists in preparing usurious transactions without signing them considered sinful, and is it obligatory to leave this job immediately or after finding an alternative, taking into account the employee's personal circumstances?

Working for a company that deals with usury (riba) falls into two categories:

First: If your work is not related to usurious borrowing, this is permissible.

Second: If your work is related to usurious borrowing, this is not permissible because it constitutes assisting in sin, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." And as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who pays it, its two witnesses, and its scribe, and he said: 'They are all equal (in sin).'"

If your work is related to usury, you are not permitted to continue in it unless there is an urgent necessity, such as not having enough to feed yourself and those you support, or not having shelter or clothing. In case of necessity, you may remain until you find a suitable alternative, and upon finding an alternative, it is obligatory for you to leave this job immediately.

We point out that the verse: "So fear Allah as much as you are able" indicates that obligation is within the limits of one's capability.
