Divorce occurs through writing accompanied by intention, and through verbal pronouncement, and it is confirmed by the signature of witnesses. So if a man writes a divorce and he is resolved upon it, it becomes binding on him. However, if he is absent, his written divorce is not confirmed except by two trustworthy witnesses who attest that it is his writing.
