1. How is Satan tormented by fire when he was created from it? 2. What is the ruling on one who enters the Sacred Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Haram) but does not circumambulate it (perform tawaf), knowing that the greeting of the Sacred Mosque is the circumambulation?

The statement that the Fire will not affect Iblis because he was created from it is a false claim for two reasons: First, Allah has informed us that He will cast him into the Fire as a punishment, and if it did not affect him, the punishment would not be realized. Second, the substance of Iblis is fire, but his essence ceased to be fire after his creation and the blowing of the spirit into him, exactly like Adam, who was created from clay, and his essence is affected by it. It is narrated that a scholar refuted this claim by throwing clay at an inquirer, demonstrating that humans are affected by clay despite being created from it.

As for the Tahiyyat al-Masjid (greeting of the mosque) for al-Masjid al-Haram (definition), the majority of scholars hold that it is the Tawaf (definition) (circumambulation) around the Kaaba for those coming for Umrah (definition) or Hajj, whenever they enter the mosque, unless there is an excuse. As for the people of Mecca, they greet the mosque with two rak'ahs (units of prayer) like any other mosque.
