Does the mother who abandoned her infant daughter, married, and traveled, deserve to see her and maintain ties with her after returning to Egypt, especially since the daughter and her family refuse that?

The mother's right is great, and honoring her is one of the greatest causes of Allah's pleasure. Disobeying her is one of the greatest sins. Her right to be honored does not diminish, regardless of her condition or shortcomings, because Allah commanded good companionship with idolatrous parents. Therefore, the wife must honor her mother, and the husband must help her in that and warn her of the consequences of disobedience.
