How sound is the Hadith: "Goodness will remain in my Ummah until the Day of Resurrection"?

The hadith "Goodness is in me and in my Ummah until the Day of Resurrection" has no origin and has not been transmitted with a chain of narration, though its meaning is sound. The Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him, suffices in place of this hadith: "There will always remain a group from my Ummah manifest upon the truth, unharmed by those who forsake them, until Allah's command comes while they are in that state."
