What should be done about ghusl al-janabah when there is severe ear inflammation that prevents wiping or washing them?

Wiping the ears during ablution (wudu') is a sunnah (definition) according to the majority of scholars, and the ablution is valid even if they are not wiped. As for ritual bathing (ghusl (definition)), it is obligatory to make water reach all parts of the body. So, if the ears are not washed or wiped, or if there is an adhesive on them, you must perform tayammum (definition) for them. Thus, you wash what is sound and perform tayammum for what you are unable to wash.
