What is the ruling on committing adultery with a non-Muslim woman who is not married?

Adultery is one of the gravest sins and most heinous crimes, and there is no difference in this regard between a Muslim woman and a non-Muslim woman. Its punishment in this world is the hadd (prescribed punishment) of one hundred lashes for the unmarried person and stoning for the married person, and there is no difference in this whether one commits adultery with a Muslim woman or a disbelieving woman. As for the punishment in the afterlife, it is more severe and greater. It has been reported in the hadith that adulterers, male and female, will be tormented in a tannur (oven) where flames will reach them from beneath. Whoever falls into this sin must offer sincere repentance and keep away from everything that leads to the forbidden. Allah rejoices at the repentance of sinners and accepts it from them, and He forgives all sins for whoever repents from them.
