When do scholars expect the Muslims to be besieged in Medina, and is this considered a minor sign of the Hour that has not yet occurred?

It is possible that the siege of Medina mentioned in the noble Hadith (definition) has not yet occurred. Ibn Hibban translated it by saying: "Mention of the notification that Medina will be besieged at the end of time, against its people and inhabitants." Al-Azim Abadi mentioned in 'Awn al-Ma'bud that Muslims will be besieged and will seek refuge in Medina, either due to an enemy siege or their flight from disbelievers. Sheikh Abdul Haq Dehlavi is of the opinion that this siege might occur during the time of the Dajjal. According to this view, this siege is one of the major signs of the Hour, as it is linked to the emergence of the Dajjal, which is considered one of the major signs of the Hour, such as the descent of Isa, the emergence of Gog and Magog, and the Beast.
